Girls On Film by Fabian Edelstam

Girls On Film is a series of anachronistic mixed-media portraits on canvas by the artist Fabian Edelstam. In this new body of work, Edelstam explores contemporary perspectives on femininity, glamour and the passage of time. Through painting that oscillates between the poetic and the cinematic, he creates a visual dialogue between dream and reality, marked by his characteristic, evocative style. The golden age of Western cinema from the 20th century and the 1970s becomes here an archaeological journey through eleven portraits of female style icons. The result is a delightful, escapist journey away from our own fleeting, materialistic and menacing present.

The exhibition will be on display from November 12 until November 16, 2025, at Biblioteket and Andy’s at Hotel Diplomat.
