Here, Afternoon Tea has been served since the late 1960s, a beloved tradition cherished across generations. Experience our carefully crafted Afternoon Tea menu by our culinary chef, Niclas Jönsson, featuring a curated selection of canapés, pastries and warm scones with accompaniments. The menu is served with our popular Diplomat Tea Blend along with other classic teas and exquisite champagne.

From Bedford to Strandvägen – A Tradition Shaped Over Time

Afternoon Tea originated in England in the 1840s and has since found its place in countless salons all over the world. At Hotel Diplomat on Strandvägen, the tradition has been refined for decades, beginning in the 1960s, where classic favourites are paired with innovative flavours in a warm, inviting atmosphere with views of Nybroviken.

In February 2025, we launched an Afternoon Tea in support of the World Childhood Foundation, celebrating a successful 10-year partnership. For every Afternoon Tea served, we donate 30 SEK to the World Childhood Foundation to support their vital mission of preventing violence and sexual abuse against children.

The Afternoon Tea is served with your choice of tea. We highly recommend our exclusive Hotel Diplomat Tea Blend. a black tea perfectly balanced with seven different Chinese teas, offering a classic, warm flavour with a mild yet distinctly smoky note. Guests may also choose from a selection of other handpicked classic teas, including English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Rooibos.

Afternoon Tea is served on weekends from 12:00, with each seating lasting two hours. Choose between a classic serving or our carefully curated Childhood Afternoon Tea, available with champagne or non-alcoholic options.
