With summer finally upon us and the longest days of the year, June and July are perfect months to explore Stockholm both indoors and outdoors, with a wealth of events and attractions. The longer days mean you will have more time to explore the city and its attractions, from the historic Old Town to taking a boat out to the archipelago. As Stockholm is built of 14 different islands connected by over 50 bridges it invites our visitors to enjoy the beautiful waterfront, and one can enjoy a dip in one of the clean and well-maintained public beaches. Here are two of our favorite indoor activities and two outdoor activities.

In the exhibit, Markosian reconstructs the final days in post-Soviet Russia and her family’s arrival in the United States. Yet it is also a powerful examination of the interplay between the idealized vision of California life portrayed on television and the reality of the immigrant experience.

Moderna Museet: Laurie Anderson, Looking into a mirror sideways, until September 3rd

Laurie Anderson is a legendary figure in American avant-garde art, experimental music, and independent culture. “Looking into a Mirror Sideways” is Laurie Anderson’s largest solo exhibition to date in Europe. A story about time, place and existence is created here.

Skansen

Experience Swedish culture and nature at the world’s oldest open-air museum. Skansen is one of the most popular outdoor museums and home to wild Nordic animals such as moose, lynxes and wolverines. Located on Royal Djurgården and offers spectacular views over all of Stockholm, this is a wonderful activity for the whole family.

Fjäderholmarna

Fjäderholmarna is a short boat ride from the harbor of Nybroviken. Take a nice walk around the island and enjoy local artisans and their handmade crafts. We highly recommend to plan for a delicious lunch at Fjäderholmarnas Krog or just enjoy a cooling ice-cream while enjoying the sun on the surrounding rocks.
